Tyler Treese: Eric, Untamed really gets its hooks in you because of the murder mystery, but as it goes on, you realize it’s really this deep character study. What did you like most about exploring Kyle’s past?
Eric Bana: I loved all of it. This unique mix of murder mystery with incredible characters set in an epic location was something I hadn’t seen before. The challenge of revealing drama over six episodes was exciting and fun.

Adding an edge to Kyle’s abrasive personality was a challenge. I had to ensure that despite his rudeness, audiences still found him relatable. It was essential to lean into his gruffness, especially in interactions with Lily Santiago’s character, a new ranger aiding in the investigation.
Chemistry with Sam Neill
A big draw for viewers will be the on-screen chemistry between me and Sam Neill. Working with him was a dream come true. His charisma and collaborative spirit made our scenes enjoyable. The relationship between Kyle and Soder is intriguing as he is the only person Kyle truly respects.
Collaboration with Showrunners
Working with Mark L. Smith and Lauren was fantastic. Their collaborative approach ensured we were all aligned in creating the epic vision for the show. Having them as a sounding board throughout the process was invaluable.
