Long Journey to the Screen
The Nightingale has experienced a lengthy journey to the screen, beginning with TriStar securing film rights in 2015, with Ann Peacock attached to write and Cantillon producing. Subsequent iterations saw writer-director Michelle MacLaren and co-writer John Sayles involved, with the Fannings initially cast in a version directed by Mélanie Laurent.
