DC Studios made a splash at San Diego Comic-Con, taking over the late Saturday slot in Hall H, previously dominated by Marvel Studios. The spotlight was on the much-anticipated second season of Peacemaker, co-produced by James Gunn and Warner Bros.

Moderator Joshua Horowitz noted, “James, this is the first time you’ve been in front of a crowd since Superman,” prompting a wave of cheers from the audience.
New Trailer Unveiled
The panel kicked off with an exciting new trailer for season 2, showcasing John Cena’s Christopher Smith as he navigates a vibrant parallel dimension. This alternate reality is not only similar to ours but also offers him the chance to connect with Jennifer Holland’s Harcourt. However, in the real world, Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. (from Superman) is determined to close the portal in his confrontation with Peacemaker. Leota warns Chris, “No matter how great the grass is over there, you belong here with us.”
Character Development and Growth
Gunn shared insights about Smith’s evolution in season 2, emphasizing his desire for character growth: “I want to see change and sometimes regression. Peacemaker is a different guy this year, grappling with the demons he uncovered in the first season.”
Supporting Characters Join the Fray
