The highly anticipated Season 2 of One Piece is on the horizon, following a successful first season on Netflix. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming adventures of Luffy and his crew.
‘One Piece’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far
One Piece Season 2 is officially in development, following a swift renewal from Netflix after the success of Season 1 last year. This live-action adaptation is based on Eiichiro Oda’s renowned manga series.
Plot Overview
The series chronicles the extraordinary adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his pirate crew as they traverse exotic islands and vast oceans in pursuit of the ultimate treasure, the “One Piece,” aiming to claim the title of Pirate King.
Cast of One Piece Season 2
The beloved Straw Hat crew will once again be portrayed by:
- Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro
- Emily Rudd as Nami
- Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
- Taz Skylar as Sanji
Returning cast members include Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Avida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Pirate King Gold Roger.
New characters from the Baroque Works syndicate will also make their debut this season.
Additional Cast Members
David Dastmalchian will portray Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, all characters directly lifted from Oda’s manga.
Callum Kerr joins the cast as Captain Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, and Ty Keogh as Dalton. These characters were teased in the Season 1 finale.

Katey Sagal will play Dr. Kureha, while Mark Harelik takes on the role of Dr. Hiriluk. Sendhil Ramamurthy has been cast as Nefertiti Cobra, and Charithra Chandran will portray Miss Wednesday.
Production Details
Joe Tracz, co-executive producer of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, is confirmed as the writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner for Season 2, collaborating with Season 1’s Matt Owens. Steve Maeda continues as an executive producer.
Production for Season 2 commenced on July 1, 2024, in South Africa, with the release anticipated in 2026. First-look images are expected to be released in August 2025.
Future Seasons
Excitingly, One Piece has already been renewed for a third season ahead of the second season’s premiere, with the announcement made in August 2025.
