The 78th annual DGA Awards is approaching, set for February 7, 2026, at the prestigious Beverly Hilton. This event promises to highlight the best in directorial talent from the past year.
DGA Awards 2026 Date & Timeline Set
UPDATED, 1:03 PM: Quiet on the set — we have an announcement: The 78th annual DGA Awards is set for Saturday, February 7, at the Beverly Hilton.
The Directors Guild of America on July 24 released its full timeline and category list for the 2026 ceremony, which will celebrate the artistry and mastery of directorial craft in 2025. Feature film nominations will be revealed January 8, a day after the TV, documentary, and commercials list comes out. See all the timeline info and categories at the bottom of the post.
“DGA Awards is a unique opportunity to celebrate excellence in our craft, and I could not be more honored to serve another year as Chair of this important event,” Beth McCarthy-Miller said in a statement. “I thank DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter for appointing me to this role, and I look forward to celebrating with all of the incredible 2025 nominees and honorees.”

The 2025 DGA Awards celebrated Sean Baker for his quirky Anora, which went on to claim five Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director. RaMell Ross scooped the First-Time Feature prize for Nickel Boys, and TV winners included Shōgun, Hacks, and Ripley.
