‘The Pitt’ Welcomes Zack Morris to Season 2 Cast

EXCLUSIVE: Zack Morris (Goosebumps) has joined the recurring cast of HBO Max’s acclaimed medical drama The Pitt for its second season, which is currently in production and set to premiere in January.

About the Series

Created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells, The Pitt explores the urgent challenges faced by U.S. frontline healthcare professionals through the lens of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department. The series employs a real-time format, tracing hour by hour the medical cases and personal crises that physicians and nurses must navigate amidst an overwhelming number of patients and limited resources.

Zack Morris’s Role

Morris will portray Jackson Davis, a patient who is brought to the emergency department following an uncontrollable outburst in a college library.

Returning and New Cast Members

The cast is led by Noah Wyle, who also serves as an executive producer and writer. The ensemble includes Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, and Gerran Howell. New additions for Season 2 include Sepideh Moafi as a series regular, along with Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson, and Lawrence Robinson in recurring roles.

Directorial Changes and Character Development

Deadline recently reported that new Emmy nominee Hatosy will direct the ninth episode of Season 2, which unfolds over the Fourth of July weekend. Wyle will also take on directing duties, collaborating closely with Hatosy as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch relies on Dr. Jack Abbot (Hatosy) and newly joined Dr. Al-Hashimi (Moafi) for support. The season will delve deeper into Abbot’s personal life, particularly his relationship with his late wife, whom he cherished, as he continues to wear his wedding ring.

Plot Teasers and Tension

LaNasa, who received a recent nomination for her role as charge nurse Dana Evans, hinted at an important conversation between her character and Santos (Briones) in episode 6, currently in production. In Season 1, Santos raised concerns about senior resident Dr. Frank Langdon (Ball) potentially pocketing drugs intended for patients. Although Dana initially dismissed her, it was later confirmed that Langdon was indeed guilty of the accusations. As Dana and Santos work closely in the ER, they must find a way to reconcile their past differences.

Award Recognition and Future Airings

Season 1 has already garnered Gotham TV and TCA Awards, along with 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Wyle, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Hatosy, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for LaNasa. The medical drama’s inaugural season is also set to air on TNT.

Upcoming Projects for Zack Morris

Morris will soon star in ABGO and Amazon’s upcoming feature film The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers and produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Karl Urban, with a release slated for early 2026.

Previously, Morris starred in the Disney+ and Hulu hit show Goosebumps, an anthology series based on R.L. Stine’s books, where he played opposite Justin Long. For his role as Isaiah Howard, he received a Kids’ Choice Award nomination. His theater credits include major productions on the West End, such as Oliver and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He is represented in the U.S. by Elevate Entertainment and in the UK by Creative Artists Management.
