‘The Morning Show’ Season 4 Trailer: A Risky Reset

In the latest trailer for The Morning Show, Jennifer Aniston reveals that the show is embarking on a significant reset. The Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series, featuring Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, is known for its dramatic season finales that leave viewers eager for a fresh start. This season, Aniston’s character, Alex Levy, has secured a crucial role following a merger with a rival network, creating ‘UBN’ (a blend of UBA and NBN).

New Challenges for Alex Levy

However, the trailer poses a pressing question about Levy’s new position as the company’s top female executive: “New Paradigm or Glass Cliff?” Despite the pressure, Alex seems determined to foster a new culture at the company, supported by allies like executive Stella (Greta Lee) and news boss Mia (Karen Pittman). Yet, the introduction of Celine Dumont, played by Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, adds a layer of tension as she challenges Alex’s vision.

Returning Characters and New Dynamics

Boyd Holbrook joins the cast as a new podcaster and potential love interest for Alex. Meanwhile, Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson is back, having turned herself into the FBI at the end of season three. As the story jumps nearly two years into the future, viewers will discover Bradley’s fate and her investigative journey into a dangerous UBA cover-up.

High Stakes and Moral Dilemmas

The trailer hints at intense conflicts, with Alex facing challenges from various characters. “To get what you want, you need to burn the house down,” Celine warns, highlighting the show’s themes of ambition and moral complexity. The season promises to explore the dynamics between Alex and Bradley as they navigate their professional and personal lives amidst a backdrop of accountability and truth.

What to Expect in Season 4

The official logline for season four states: “The Morning Show opens in spring 2024, almost two years after season three. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives, and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America.” The ensemble cast includes Aniston, Witherspoon, Crudup, Duplass, and newcomers like Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.

The 10-episode season premieres on September 17 on Apple TV+, with one episode released initially, followed by weekly episodes until November 19.
