Exclusive Development of ‘Jawbone’

EXCLUSIVE: Monica Ojeda’s coming-of-age horror novel Jawbone is being adapted for television by Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, and Kyzza Terrazas’ La Corriente del Golfo, along with Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund’s Eat the Cat.

Key Contributors

Jaquen Castellanos (Good American Family, The Affair) will be the writer and executive producer, while Michelle Garza Cervera (Huesera: The Bone Woman) will direct and also serve as executive producer for this English-language project from Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Plot Overview

Jawbone narrates the gripping tale of Fernanda and Annelise, whose bond is akin to sisterhood: a double image, inseparable. However, the narrative takes a dark turn as Fernanda finds herself bound on the floor of a deserted cabin, held captive by one of her teachers and cut off from Annelise.

Intertwining pop culture references and horror elements, Jawbone delves into the inherent fears of adolescence, exploring the thin line between desire and terror.
