Amelia Dimoldenberg Launches Two-Day Live Event to Celebrate 10 Years of ‘Chicken Shop Date’

EXCLUSIVE: It’s been 10 years since Amelia Dimoldenberg launched her now wildly successful YouTube series Chicken Shop Date. To commemorate this milestone, the British host, writer, and producer is launching her first-ever live event in London.

Event Details

Dimoldenberg’s creative studio, Dimz Inc., is set to debut ‘Chicken Shop Date: 10 Years Of An Idea Served By YouTube’ at Protein Studios in Shoreditch on September 26-27, 2025. This two-day event is backed by YouTube, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The event will showcase behind-the-scenes moments from Chicken Shop Date, live panel discussions featuring various digital creators (most of whom Dimoldenberg will join), and interactive workshops.

Celebrating a Decade of Creativity

In an exclusive interview with Deadline, Dimoldenberg expressed that the event is not only a celebration of her brand but also a testament to Dimz Inc.’s commitment to nurturing young and fresh talent in the content creation space.

“When I started, the algorithms were not the same as they are now,” Dimoldenberg shared. “TikTok didn’t exist, and all these different platforms didn’t exist in the same way. This event is an amazing way to celebrate the journey of the show. More broadly, I want to celebrate the next generation of creatives and creators.”

Inspiring the Next Generation

Dimoldenberg aims to inspire young individuals with ideas of their own, encouraging them to take action and create without waiting for permission. “You shouldn’t wait; you should just make it yourself,” she emphasized.

The Rise of ‘Chicken Shop Date’

Dimoldenberg burst onto the content creation scene in 2014 with her pop culture show Chicken Shop Date, where she flirts and asks guests awkward questions during dates at fried chicken restaurants. Originally a column in a youth-run magazine, the show has evolved into a digital series that film marketing teams now utilize as part of their promotional strategies.

Over the years, the show has attracted high-profile guests like Andrew Garfield, Cynthia Erivo, and Idris Elba, as well as Paul Mescal and Harris Dickinson, who are set to portray Paul McCartney and John Lennon respectively in Sam Mendes’ upcoming The Beatles films.

Dimoldenberg’s YouTube channel boasts over 3.2 million subscribers, with her interviews with Garfield and Dickinson garnering 12 million and 2.5 million views, respectively. Notable music stars featured on the series include Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, SZA, Cher, and Ed Sheeran.

Commitment to Accessibility

Recently, Dimoldenberg was highlighted in YouTube’s UK Impact report and played a significant role in the UK Creator Consultation, a national initiative aimed at shaping the future of digital content. In 2018, she founded Dimz Inc., specializing in original formats and branded entertainment, with a focus on short-form episodic content.

Last month, her studio launched Dimz Inc. Academy, a free initiative dedicated to supporting the next generation of creators in collaboration with charity Spiral Skills. Dimoldenberg believes it is vital to level the playing field and ensure that the creative industries are accessible to everyone.

“I’ve found that support was crucial in my journey,” she noted. “We need a media industry that reflects the diverse voices in society, which will lead to better entertainment and culture overall.”
