EXCLUSIVE: Emmy winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), fresh off the horror film 28 Years Later, is set to star alongside Harry Melling (The Queen’s Gambit), who recently gained acclaim from the Cannes hit Pillion, in the musical love story Stuffed.
Production Details
Cameras are set to roll on September 15 in South Wales for this under-the-radar UK indie feature, which centers around Araminta (Comer), a brooding taxidermist with a secret ambition to stuff a human specimen. When she meets Bernie (Melling), a lonely man terrified of being forgotten, he volunteers himself, leading to an unexpectedly haunting romance.
Creative Team
This film marks the debut of writer-director Theo Rhys, co-written with writer-composer Joss Holden-Rea, and is being launched for world sales at the TIFF market by Cornerstone.
The film expands on Rhys’ short of the same name, which won both the Midnight Jury and Audience Awards at SXSW 2021 and earned a BAFTA nomination in 2022.
Produced by Sam Ritzenberg (Femme) and Dimitra Tsingou (Pig), alongside Myles Payne and Hayley Williams of Agile Films, with Danny Roberts, Jackie Langelier, and H.S. Naji of Fresh Fish Films. Adam Knopf serves as the Welsh co-producer.
