EXCLUSIVE: Production has officially begun on Season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing, and Deadline has an exclusive first look at what’s happening on the Nova Scotia set.

Love Triangle Teased

A photo featuring Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray, and Marcus Rosner hints at a brewing love triangle between their characters following the Season 3 cliffhanger, where Rosner’s Liam revealed himself as Maggie’s (Kohan) husband.

Cal (Murray) was understandably displeased to learn this news, but the snapshot from the set suggests that, at least initially, Cal will remain a devoted partner to Maggie, gazing at her with affection. However, it appears Cal will need to keep an eye on Liam, who watches Cal with a furrowed brow.

Cast and Crew Excitement

Deadline has also provided individual shots of Maggie and Cal, along with a glimpse of the film slate.

“I am beyond proud to be going back for Season 4 with such an amazing cast and crew,” Kohan stated. “It’s been incredible to witness the organic growth of our show throughout the first three seasons. We’ve built a beautiful audience base in Canada, and it’s exciting to see that expand internationally. Season 4 truly feels like our best yet, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”

Murray added, “We’re thrilled to return to our Sullivan’s family and these wonderful characters. There’s always an excitement in being back on set, and I’m proud of how far the show has come; not just in Canada, but globally. It’s amazing to be part of something that resonates with people in such a meaningful way.”

Success on Streaming Platforms

Sullivan’s Crossing recently struck gold on Netflix, garnering 22 million hours watched to become the third most-watched series on the platform during its debut week. Before its arrival on Netflix, the series had a successful run on The CW in the U.S., where it became a top three show by total audience and among the 18-49 demographic.

The series is also a hit in Canada, airing on CTV and Crave. Season 3 was CTV’s most-watched Canadian scripted series of the 2024-25 broadcast year, according to Numeris. Internal data indicates that Season 3 consistently ranked in the Top 20 on Crave, with a 20% audience growth over Season 2.

Collaboration Behind the Scenes

Sullivan’s Crossing marks another collaboration between author Robyn Carr, creator and showrunner Roma Roth, and executive producer Christopher E. Perry — the same team behind Netflix’s hit Virgin River.

Plot Overview

The five-book series follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan (Kohan), who, after finding herself in legal trouble, returns to her hometown in rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father (Scott Patterson) while navigating her relationship with Cal (Murray). The series introduced Rosner’s Liam at the end of Season 3 as Maggie’s old summer fling, who returns to stir up trouble. The season concluded on a cliffhanger when he claims to be Maggie’s husband.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that Sullivan’s Crossing is returning for a fourth season,” Roth remarked. “Seeing it resonate with a global audience and watching the ratings climb has been a dream come true. Season 4 will explore themes of change and transformation, so expect a new set of exciting and emotional challenges for Maggie and Cal.”

Season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing is executive produced by Reel World Management and Muse Entertainment in association with Bell Media’s CTV, The CW, and Fremantle. The series is distributed internationally by Fremantle.
