Grass League, a revolutionary par 3 golf league, has successfully raised $2.75 million in funding to enhance its operations and expand its reach.
Grass League Secures $2.75 Million Funding
Golf is an expensive sport — even for those who just play par 3 courses. Grass League is addressing this issue.
Funding Overview
The par 3 golf league, Grass League, has successfully raised $2.75 million in its seed-plus funding round, which is positioned between an initial seed investment and an official Series-A round. The majority of the funding came from Creator Sports Capital, which recently invested $45 million in Good Good Golf, a highly influential YouTube golf group. Old Tom Capital, known for investing in golf innovation, also contributed.
Collaborations and Influencer Involvement
With Creator Sports Capital on board, there are plans for collaborations with Good Good, as co-founder Jake Hoselton mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter. However, specific details are yet to be disclosed.
Additionally, golf influencer Paige Spiranac has joined the league as a front-office staff member. She is responsible for developing Grass League’s entire content strategy, including social media branding. With four million followers on Instagram and a strong presence across various platforms, Spiranac is well-equipped for this role. She will also serve as an on-course reporter.
Funding Utilization
The new funding will enhance event production, establish a new commissioner role, and double the league’s content output across social media, YouTube, and shorts, according to Hoselton.
A New Approach to Golf
Grass League offers a relaxed alternative to traditional golf, which is often perceived as stuffy and slow. The format focuses on par 3s, played at night, in a 2 v. 2 come-as-you-are team setup.
Despite this relaxed approach, Hoselton emphasizes that competition remains a core aspect of Grass League. “We still are golf peers,” he stated. “Competition is the utmost important thing of the Grass League.” He believes in growing the game overall.

Founding and Structure
Founded in 2023 by Hoselton and his brother Jimmy, along with Pete Wilson and Connor Riley, Grass League features a duos scramble competition with 11 franchises across North America and Canada. Team owners include notable figures like Dave Roberts (Los Angeles Roses), Wyndham Clark (San Diego Munis), Good Good Golf (Dallas Horsemen), and professional tennis player Mardy Fish (Hollywood Hitters).
Grass League hosts live events that stream on Peacock and the Golf Channel, both owned by NBCUniversal, although the Golf Channel is transitioning to a new spinoff company.
Vision for the Future
“The brilliance of Grass League lies in its transformation of a universal pastime into a compelling, creator-driven sport,” stated Brian Kabot, co-managing partner of Creator Sports Capital. “What impressed us most is how they’ve built more than just a league; they’ve cultivated a vibrant digital community where passion and creativity are the main event.”
Grass League events tour the country, with its flagship site located at Grass Clipping Rolling Hills in Tempe, Arizona.
“Grass League is building exactly the kind of platform that resonates with where sports, media, and culture are headed,” added Matthew Erley, managing partner of Old Tom Capital. “At Old Tom Capital, we believe the future of golf — and sports more broadly — belongs to formats that are inclusive, fast, and designed for digital and primetime audiences.”
